A fanart for one of my favorite children's books ever: Weslandia, by Paul Fleischman. [link]
It's about a boy named Wesley who, while a dedicated student, is picked on by the other children in his school for being different. For his summer project, he decides to actually create his own country, based on a new staple crop, "swist", and a number system based on the number eight.
I used to love stories about secret places kids had wonderful adventures in. I tried to make some myself, but they never seemed to work out as well as the ones in books did... XD
Reference used: The picture of Welsey on the last page of the story.
